Geocaching And Batchelors Grove Cemetery
|
Geocaching is an activity where someone hides an object in a particular location and then publishes it's GPS (Global Positioning System) coordinates so that others can find it using a GPS receiver. That is the short version of Geocaching. The longer version becomes much more interesting and is something you may find yourself doing more than once after you discover what it's all about. For a more in-depth look into Geocaching you should check out the FAQ section compiled by the people at Geocaching.com. |

~ General guideline for Geocaching usage at Batchelors Grove ~
1. Do not remove any cache from it's location unless it was designated to be relocated. 2. Do not destroy the cache like vandals destroy the cemetery! 3. Try not to let visitors of the area see what you are doing once you find the cache. If a vandal were to see you they may decide to spoil the fun for everyone in their not-so-caring ways. 4. If a cache is hidden within any material such as branches or leaves then it probably was designed that way. Be sure to put it back in it's proper setting. If a cache is in some sort of container with a removable lid be sure to put the lid back on. This will protect it from the harsh elements of Mother Nature. 5. Use common sense when searching for a cache and be aware of your surroundings. No one should get hurt trying to locate a cache. If you must walk over water, fallen trees and ravines do so carefully. |
