Blue Island Sun-Standard - December 3, 1925
John Hamilton, for many years a resident of Bachelor's Grove and later of Blue Island, died at his home, 174 Walnut street, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 28th. He was one of the oldest settlers of Bremen Township, being born there July 27, 1842, living on a farm next to the Midlothian Country Club, until 1903, when the family moved to Blue Island. With his wonderful philosophy of life, his kindly disposition, he spread cheer along his path and made many warm friends by whom his loss will be keenly felt. He is survived by his widow, Alma G., his daughter, Mrs. Chester H Morris of Chicago and his son, John Emerson of San Francisco. Another daughter, Florence, wife of Edward J. Rohrer of this city, died 4 years ago in San Diego. Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) from the late residence, 174 Walnut street, conducted by Rev. Rufus A White, pastor of the Liberal church of Englewood. Interment was in Bachelor's Grove cemetery.
