March 20, 2011 - Cemetery Restoration

Cemetery restoration work will take place on Sunday, March 20th between 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. The restoration efforts will consist of performing a brush-pile burn and the removal of Buckthorn next to the pond just outside of the northern entrance to the cemetery.

Any necessary tools will be provided and all volunteers will be meeting at the cemetery itself. Due to the nature of the event there will be particular areas closed off for safety. Casual visitors to the area may freely watch the activities from many of the open locations.

In more recent events, we are proud to announce that additional volunteers have completed their power tool safety certification through the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. It is great to witness such dedication by our volunteers and we look forward to assisting the rest of you in signing up for future classes. Excellent job everyone!

If you are a current volunteer and wish to be put on the list for future power tool classes please don't hesitate to email a coordinator. See you all on the 20th!
