Body Found In Woods Police said the girl has been tentatively identified as Audrey J. Ellis, 19, of 2271 Carver St. They said the body was too badly decomposed for positive identification. A purse and shoes traced to Miss Ellis were found about 100 feet from the body, in the Bachelor's Grove forest preserve at 145th and Ridgeland Streets. Police said a green plastic bracelet and a metal shamrock were the only two articles found on the body. An autopsy was scheduled today. The victim was the third young woman found dead this summer in a Cook forest preserve. Two others were discovered in July, one near Lyons and the other in the Calumet Grove, south of Blue Island. Police said the girl found Monday probably had been there for about two months. A mushroom hunter made the discovery. Police are hoping to positively identify the latest victim so they can begin tracing her movements in an effort to catch the killer. |
