KMUZ - More Stories About Shock-Let & Ghouls - Ghost Stories Part IV - #74

Closing out our Halloween-Spook-tacular this year is a delightful trio of conversations with excellent friends, each of whom enjoy this time of year, but all things dark and eerie. There’s a bit of ennui that sets in after the last holiday broadcast of the year, and we had so much fun this time that I really didn’t want the party to stop. So two of our calls during this show are quite long, and both cover many experiences that each of gone through over the years. Additionally, two of our callers discuss a similar Chicago Landmark. And, all three are incredible additions to any broadcast, regardless of the time of year.

If you are interested in finding more information about Branden’s music, I would check out his MyFacester+ Page, or his (Aesthetic Pulses) SoundCloud Account, where there’s a fair amount of music. You can find Arvo Zylo’s music at his website, nopartofit.com. Arvo discusses a book by Sarah Wreck, too, and it’s affect on his story.

The range of stories we heard from callers this year was fantastic, and if you missed any of our four Ghost Stories programs this year (or the two we did last year), you could do a lot worse than follow this link: midvalleymutations.com/category/ghost-stories. You’ll find all six, with calls from friends and former guests on the program, all sharing real, personal experiences in the world of paranormal and unexplained events. And, if you just like Halloween, then check out Austin’s Annual Halloween Spook-tacular, in iTunes or in a podcast-agnostic RSS Feed. (As near as I can figure, it seems to be available in most podcasting apps, but let me know if you can’t find it.) This podcast has shows going back to 2004, and now features all of the Closet Radio Halloween broadcasts, too. All to get you into the Holiday Spirit. Please, check it out. You won’t regret it.
Now that the holiday season is over, we’ll return to live music and interviews as a more regular staple of the show. But, until next year:

A Merry Spook-tacular to you all! And to all, a Good Day!

Enjoy.

BACHELORS GROVE: Thanks for the update. I added the interview to the online archives for others to listen to.

BACHELORS GROVE: If you are ever in the Chicago area again I would love to meet at Bachelors Grove cemetery to talk about your experiences.

ARVO ZYLO: I'm living in Seattle now, but I'd be glad to answer any other questions! I've been to your site a billion times, by the way. Was friends with Ursula Bielski for a while, but never went on her bus tour.

BACHELORS GROVE: At the moment my questions relate to pointing out exact locations to the sightings. That's typically something better to do on location.

BACHELORS GROVE: Hope you enjoy the website!

ARVO ZYLO: You know the grave in the corner, when you walk in, to your left, that is where I sat all night. To my left was the dead horse and carriage as I was sitting on that grave, not too far from where the fence has been bent, but a little bit further in. The bride and groom were about 5-10 feet from the entrance. A little closer to my side of the fence. The bride was skinny, not like the famous photo of the woman sitting on that square shaped tombstone. The red lights were coming from the turnpike, but further into the trees, not directly above the lagoon, but closer to Cicero Ave. The exploding yellow man was walking around not far from the horse and carriage, so say 15-20 feet from the big infant grave, on my side of the grave. The hovering hooded figures were mainly going back and forth across the entrance fence, but almost corner to corner of the fence, just back and forth. I could not see the screaming animals that I was hearing, but they seemed to me to be on the other side of the fence, directly to my right as I sat in the grave. Did you listen to the interview yet?

There was another time I saw a really big cat. I would swear the thing looked like a wolf from a distance, but it was more like a bobcat on the cemetery path. It kept going right past me as I said in the grave.

I have only see the disappearing house once, but I have been lost in those woods for several hours at least three times. I think the longest was 5 hours, even though we walked straight for a really long time. We could have maybe walked to Tinley Park in that time.

But as I recall, we followed the stream past the foundation that is outside the cemetery. I do recall us crossing the stream over some rocks that were there, and walking what I believe is west. There was another sewer / manhole that was further beyond the foundation, and there is a photo of me in it that I can dig up.

ARVO ZYLO: These photos are from 2007 by Edgar Amaya:

ARVO ZYLO: I did a drawing in the moonlight. In the drawing, it saw that I was drunk, but it's not really true. I drank less than a half pint of Jack Daniels mainly to keep warm. June of 2003.

ARVO ZYLO: This is me inside the manhole. It is not the same manhole that is by the foundation, it is much further out, but it was on the path of where we saw the disappearing house. Again, the disappearing house never seemed to get any closer. It was always about 50-100 away from us at all times once we got a bit further into the other side of the stream...

ARVO ZYLO: This is the drawing. More stuff happened after the drawing, and the woman on the ground, I can assume it is a mirage, but it really looked real.
